Today I received my much awaited Ringke Leather Discover Case for the Blackberry Passport
I was ordering one of the awesome REARTH Ringke Fusion cases when this “Discover Case” caught my eye. So I decided to give it a chance.
I had been looking for a folder or “diary” style case for awhile now. Everyone had suggested the Stilgut Case, but it didn’t have all the features I wanted. In fact, none of the diary cases I had seen had all of the features I wanted, until I found this RINGKE case and I finally found ALL of those desired features in the “DISCOVER“.
So lets get right to exploring those features.
Protection: Your precious passport will have FULL coverage and protection in this case. Inside each Discover case there is a Ringke Fusion case mounted. That alone, gives you fabulous coverage and protection from drops or falls. Adding the leather exterior only doubles that protection.
Looks: This case is made with 100% high quality, genuine luxurious leather. Furthermore, it is 100% handmade, with precision attention to every last detail. Someone who takes pride in their work has touched this case over and over making it perfect for you to use. I can already see how much sexier and more luxurious it will get and feel with age, like most high quality leather products do.
Function: This cases functionality actually TICKLES ME PINK! A built-in stand is a great feature, the cover simply folds to produce a secure stand to comfortably view your favorite movies or videos and make video calls. All ports are easily accessible with the case closed. The inside of the case offers three slots for cards and ID’s as well as two pockets slots for larger papers or cash. It is a fully functioning wallet. The case has magnetic operation for your passport screen AND, most importantly, the case stays closed without a buckle or snap.
The Ringke Discover Case for the Blackberry Passport has EVERYTHING this girl was looking for in a case, I think it’s PERFECT! I’m looking forward to seeing how this case will do with time. An update will certainly be coming with that information, so be on the lookout for that!
Great review. I just started using the Discover case last week. Have had lots of positive comments. Do you know if there is a way to answer the phone without opening and closing the cover?
Mark
Mark thank you! I don’t know of any way to answer without opening the cover but if you discover one I would love to hear about it!
Good Review and it was helpful.
I just got the case – it doesn’t stay closed without a buckle, the cover just sort of sits there – like a book. I wanted a clasp much like the SENA cases have, and when you said it “stays closed” I may have misinterpreted what you meant by this – I thought there was some magic magnetic thing that kept the cover closed. Not the end of the world. Additionally, a minor point – no hole to see the notification light – but with some gentle modifications I can fix this.
Aside from that – NICE quality. much nicer than the stilgut (which I have and am sending back – was waiting on this one). The leather and stitching on this is on Par with Sena which is impressive. If this one didn’t do it for me, I was going to go all out and get a vaja case, but at double the price. Not necessary – this is a professional case and will work well for my needs.
Ryan, are you still using the case? Just curious about how its holding up for you? Mine still looks great and the leather has gotten softer…it looks worn in just the way I like it. :) I dont use it all of the time though, I switch out from time to time to either the OEM Hard Shell or the Rinke Fusion.
I just read a review on Amazon…very much like Ryan’s comment about this case and the Vaja case…I took a look at the Vaja and definitely nice quality leather and craftsmanship, but price is pretty steep. So, I decided to search for more reviews about the “REARTH Ringke Leather DISCOVER Case” and came upon your site.
Very nicely detailed review and your pictures certainly helped me make my decision! :) I am placing my order for the DISCOVER case, as soon as I finish posting this. Yay!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed my review! Let me know what you think of your case!
FYI: that review that mentions the Vaja case – it’s me :)
Just checking in to see how you like it…
I like it a lot! I don’t use anything else, and it really helps protect the phone. I still love the phone immensely, and that love hasn’t gone away over time – it’s not a shiny toy anymore and it’s still great. The case gets compliments quite often. So my response – still really happy with it, and it’s held up well to the abuse I give it. My only complaint at all, and it’s minor – it’s tough to take a photo with the case lid flopping around, a nifty magnet type mechanism to keep the case half open would be clever, but it doesn’t detract from the rest of the case or use. I also really like the landscape stand capabilities of the case also – it’s quite functional.
My husband has this same case for his phone. He loves it! I still think the phone size is ridiculous, but to each his own lol 😁
Best case ever! Seriously, I just wish it came in pink! :)
Great review I have always had my wallet phones made from a leather guy in British Columbia I went thru 3 to be to the point iphone 3, iphone 4s and iphone 5s & now the Blackberry Passport. I emailed him a few days ago and said he could make me one for $75 but would have to wait for 3-4 weeks so in the mean time my BB is naked. His are hand sewn do you think this is maybe just as good the quality and leather? and this has 3 folds for credit cards and 2 slots to put receipts in and bills correct? thanks and wait to hear back.
