Low Carb Banting Donut

If you are banting, you probably haven’t had anything sweet or decadent in some time.  Especially if you are a very strict banter like me.
So when you have a craving for say, a donut…you are in trouble.

A bavarian creme donut from Dunkin Donuts, as heavenly as it may be, has 41 net carbs.  I dont know about you but 25 carbs is my daily allowance. I cant even afford to LOOK at that donut.

Enter….the SOLUTION!

This homemade donut has a mere 8 carbs total including the toppings, but not only is it low carb, its also ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! And, its so simple to make!

Banting Donut Recipe (6 carbs per serving)

Preheat oven to 350*

  • 1 cup, Almond Flour
  • 3 teaspoon Xylitol
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 0.50 tsp, Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp, Vanilla extract
  • .25 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 tsp, Cinnamon, ground
  • 0.50 tsp, Salt

Mix all of the ingredients together in a mixing bowl.  Blend well. You want it to be the consistency of cake batter, if too dry add a teeny bit more cream until it gets to that cake batter consistency, then spoon into a well greased mini/small doughnut baking pan.  Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown with a clean toothpick test. Flip the donuts onto a paper towel immediately.  Allow to cool.

Sugar Free Whipped Cream (1 carb per serving)

  • 1 cup, whipped, Cream, fluid, heavy whipping
  • 3 packets Stevia In the Raw or regular stevia
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

In a pint sized glass ball jar (wide mouth) pour all of the ingredients in.  Use a stick blender or electric beater on HIGH to beat the combination until it becomes thick whipped cream.

I topped mine with just a little 90% cocoa shaved on a hand grater, it was about 1/3 of a square. (about 1 carb).

I KNOW that you are going to ENJOY it! 🙂
